10 Ways to Improve Indoor Air Quality

1. Do not allow anyone to smoke inside of your home at anytime.

2. Measure the indoor humidity with a digital humidity and temperature monitor to keep it below 50 percent. Do not use any type vaporizer or humidifier; you may need a dehumidifier. Always use vent fans in bathrooms, and allow them to run for at least 30-minutes after bathroom  and shower usage.  Also, use vent fans when cooking to remove moisture.  Promptly repair all water leaks.

3. Wear a N95 particulate mask (Centers for Disease Control (CDC) NIOSH rated) when vacuuming or sweeping to reduce your exposure to fine particulates and allergens.

4. Do not use carpet in the bedroom. Use a central vacuum or a vacuum with a HEPA filter regularly. Keep it mind that it takes over two hours for dust to settle back down. If you’re not filtering it mechanically, then your nose is filtering it.

5. Keep pets out of the bedroom at all times. Use a room size Air Cleaner in the bedroom with an adequate CADR (Clean Air Delivery Rate) for the size of the room.

6. Encase mattresses and pillows with “mite-proof” covers. Wash all bed linens weekly.

7. Install a MERV 11 or 12 disposable high-efficiency media filter in the furnace and air-conditioning system. Change the filter every one to three months (with the change of the seasons) to keep the air cleaner year-round.

8. Install a high-quality air purification system in your home. Find a “whole-home” system. Leave a fan on to remove particles that may trigger allergies and asthma.

9. Have your heating and air-conditioning units inspected and serviced every six months.

10. Vent gas appliances and fireplaces to the outside and maintain them regularly.

Uncompromising Health Weight Loss Challenge – Day 32

It is a beautiful, sunshine-filled morning here in South Carolina. Frost on the

ground and twenty-one degrees!  God is certainly smiling on us this special day.

Today starts Day 32 of my own Vollara Uncompromising Health Weight Loss Challenge.  The past two days have been a bit frustrating as my body has decided it is showing me who is in charge.  The scale did give me a bit of relief this morning showing a loss of eight ounces.  This morning, I weighed in at 339.8.  I am really excited about the coming week. How much healthier I will become…how much more weight I will lose.

My day started with two ounces of low-fat cottage cheese with pineapple. I topped it off with a delicious vanilla whey protein shake from Vollara. I blended it with cold, organic skim milk. Delicious! Some days I blend my fruit in with the shake. Can I get a BOOM?

Re:Place is the core product in my weight loss program.  Re:Place is a delicious SuperFood that uses the amazing power of enzymes to support your metabolism at optimum levels during weight loss without using drugs or stimulants. Unlike other meal replacement products that offer little nutrition, Re:Place provides the minerals, amino acids, enzymes, carbohydrates, protein, fatty acids, fiber, phytonutrients, and naturally occurring vitamins that your body needs to support a healthy and active metabolism. Re:Place supports your body’s ability to burn the maximum amount of fat from storage, using it as fuel and enabling you to obtain the slimmer, leaner body you desire. In fact, as a SuperFood, Re:Place is an ideal meal replacement or supplement drink for anyone concerned with looking great and feeling great.

I will have the second of my 5 – 7 meals around noon today.  It sure feels good to be losing weight again. Below are my stats:

Original starting weight — 555 pounds

Today, I weighed in at 339.8.  On this second leg of my journey, I have dropped 25.2 pounds over the past 31 days and I feel great. Body Mass Index (BMI)  today is 46.1  My ultimate goal is to be at 180 pounds by my birthday on December 29th. In order to accomplish this, I must lose 0.48 pounds each day.

Many of you have decided to join me on my challenge. I hope more of you do.  When you do, I will send you my complete meal plan, as well as our 5-7-5 plan which allows you to lose 5 pounds in 7 days.  My personal plan is a bit more aggressive.

Let me hear from you. Leave your comments. Tell me how you’re doing on your weight loss. What are you finding helpful? What’s challenging for you? While you here, I’d be honored if you would subscribe to this blog, and I will give you daily updates, and keep you posted on new health trends, especially tailored around weight loss.  Keep it up…the only way one cannot win this game is by quitting. Tired of Suffering From Stiff Joints?

If you have stiff, achy joints you’re not alone.  I can’t tell you how many of you have told me they’re so stiff in the morning that it is miserable to get out of bed – or that everyday activities like climbing a flight of stairs is a painful event.

Unfortunately there aren’t many good pain relief options available, especially if you have cardiovascular concerns.  Clinical studies have shown that the most popular pain relievers for joint issues, NSAIDS (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs), can negatively impact blood clotting.   Consequently, it would seem they are not the optimal choice for anyone with cardiovascular concerns.

The good news is there’s an all-natural breakthrough that can provide dramatic joint pain relief safely and effectively…

This discovery gets to the root of joint pain – delivering safe, lasting relief.

Scientists have uncovered an all-natural pain reliever called Re:Flex® that does what no other nutrient has ever done, it…

Previous name Infi-Aide

  • Provides fast dramatic relief for stiff, painful joints – by blocking pain right where it starts
  • Contains antioxidants that help protect your joints.
  • Plus, it’s not only safe for your heart – it actually boosts heart health!

This is such a huge breakthrough for your joints, muscles and your heart.

Re:Flex blocks your joint pain right where it starts.

Re:Flex contains highly bioavailable form of ingredients.  Once in your joints, Re:Flex blocks the top pain-causing enzymes we all hear so much about.

Plus, it’s safe and natural, so you can confidently take it every day!

The study results are quite dramatic.

In a leading study, Reflex improved pain, stiffness, and physical function by over 58% and mobility by 336%.  Re:Flex also promoted a 16-fold drop in C-reactive protein (CRP), which is the measure of inflammation in your body.  That dramatic CRP reduction isn’t just benefiting your joints; it can make a real improvement in your overall health.

Then, to round out the Re:Flex formula, it supplies a powerful combination of natural herbs and proteolytic enzymes that support the immune system’s natural anti-inflammatory processes.  This helps to reduce oxidative stress on your joints, heart and entire body.

Re:Flex can make a real difference
in your health and quality of life

Your Work Is Important.

Me and Hollywood movie producer, and fellow Vollarian, Glenn Greene

Happiness depends on feeling good about yourself. It is based on your relationships and achievements. When your gifts and abilities are developed and utilized through your life’s work, you grow in confidence and strength.

If you are unhappy at work, it will affect your family life, even your health. Take time to plan your career and life’s work.

Your work is a gift from God. “…to rejoice in his labour; this is the gift of God,” (Ecclesiastes 5:19).  “The Lord shall make thee plenteous in goods…and…bless all the work of thine hand,” (Deuteronomy 28:11 – 12).

God has given you your life’s work to bring you personal fulfillment. It is a vital key to your self-esteem and significance. If you are investing forty miserable hours each week on a job you do not like, two hours of church on Sunday will not necessarily cure it.

1. Are You Really Happy With What You Are Presently Doing? Your personal excitement and enthusiasm about your productivity each day is important. Nobody can answer this but You.

2. Is Your Present Job Actually A Short-Range or Long-Range Goal? For instance, high school or college students may not intend to work their entire lifetime at fast food restaurants. So their “after school” job is a short-range goal. They are gaining education, experience and basic financial provision.

Likewise, you should clarify in your own Mind the real reasons why you have chosen to work where you are presently working or where you desire to work.

3. Are Your God-Given Gifts And Strongest Talents Being Developed?  Prosperity and promotion usually come to those who totally focus on their most significant skills.

4. Are You Working Just To Pay Your Bills And Have Fun or To Truly Express A Contribution To Life And To This Work? Prominent achievers go the extra mile.

5. Do You Feel That God Is Satisfied With What You Are Doing Now?  I remember one tremendous guitarist who left a nightclub band after honestly answering this question. Though he loved his music, he felt God did not want him sowing his talents in such an environment.

6. Do You Feel That You Are Doing The Highest Quality of Work That You Are Capable of Doing?  Millions cultivate the habit of mediocrity in their daily duties. If you are not striving for total excellence, you have either the wrong job or the wrong attitude.

7. Do You Feel Like You Are Working “As Unto The Lord?” You must see the work you do for your boss as work you are doing for God. If not, you will soon resent your boss and the time you spend on his work.  This attitude will eventually cause you to feel unfulfilled and unproductive.

Seriously consider the above questions. Then, ask The Lord for his instructions regarding your career.

8. How Much Income Do You Personally Feel That You Need To Consider Yourself Financially Successful?  Each of us have different needs. Some have 5×7 dreams. Others have 16×20 dreams. Neither is right or wrong. The key is to establish a true picture of your personal desires.

9. What Kind of Problems Do You Really Love To Solve?  You can determine this by your favorite topic of conversation, favorite books and magazines that you enjoy? What would you enjoy talking about the most? Those things reveal your true interests.

10. What Kind of Environment Do You Find Most Enjoyable? Some people discover that they need many people around them to be most productive. Others prefer solitude.

11. What Are Your Social Needs? If your job deprives you of important relationships, it will become a source of discomfort and depression. You must diagnose the personal leisure and social needs that your happiness requires.

12. What Kind of Family Life or Time Do You Feel Is Necessary?  Obviously, a bachelor schedules his life differently from a family man with five children or a divorced mother of an infant. The job that is right for you should provide adequate time for sharing with those you love.

13. What Level of Social Approval And Respect Do You Need? Each of us wants to be accepted by our friends. Never work for a company of which you are ashamed.  One man admitted to me that he had no confidence in the products he was promoting. Consequently, he experienced very little success. He left that job and went to work with a company he could honestly support.  It made all the difference in his happiness.

14. What Kind of Financial Future Is Necessary For Your Peace of Mind? While very few jobs offer a lifetime guarantee, every one of us needs a sense of predictable income. Tomorrow does come. You must find where God wants you to be and what He wants you to be doing, and move as quickly as possible in that direction. Paul wrote, “With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men,” (Ephesians 6:7).

The article above was written by Dr. Mike Murdock, a dear friend and mentor to me. It was taken from The Wisdom Papers of Mike Murdock WPMM#36. For more information on Dr. Murdock’s ministry, visit him online at http://www.WisdomOnline.com

When I received this information from Dr. Murdock, I was personally going through a time in my life where I had just made a major career change.  I had been in the financial services industry for many years, and had, quite honestly, become very successul. I had worked my way up to earning a mid six-figure annual income; however, God decided it was time for me to move in another direction. I thought I was happy. I had all the things in life that make one appear to be happy…nice homes, expensive luxury cars, exotic vacations…yet, I was miserable inside and didn’t know it. I was also lost and undone…I was living a lie…I thought I had a relationship with Jesus; however, I had an empty, selfish life. On December 11, 2008, I personally accepted Jesus Christ as my very own Personal Savior and now I know what that relationship truly means. Life hasn’t been all perfect since that day. Actually, it has gotten harder! I now know what things in life are important to me. God…family…true friends. You see, money buys people, but not friends!

I have a very varied career past…I have worked in the real estate industry, law enforcement, been the owner and/or co-owner of several business ventures….even worked professionally in the music entertainment industry. I had played with the Network Marketing industry previously; but, I had never made any serious money….that is until I got involved with a healthy-living technology company in 2006.  My wife, Joyce and I, started seeing checks of over $5,000 each month within five months.

When I made my career change in 2008 out of the financial services industry, I prayed hard and long about which direction God wanted me to move toward. It was about this time that Dr. Murdock sent me the article quoted above.  God showed me clearly the things I enjoy doing. I enjoy working and being around people…the one’s I choose to be around and the one’s God chooses to send into my path. I enjoy having time freedom. I enjoy being able to spend as much time with my wife as I possibly can. I enjoy being able to spend tons of time with my two beautiful granddaughters…and I like being able to take trips and vacations whenever I choose. I also like having the ability to earn as much money as I want to earn! The great thing about my network marketing career is the fact that I can work from anywhere in the world. As long as I have my iPhone, I’m in business.

Network marketing isn’t for everyone. Contrary to what many think, I don’t want  all my friends and family members in my business. I only want those people who are fed-up with making someone else rich….working when someone else tells them to work…being off when someone else tells them to be off. I want the individual that is career-disturbed, tired of the rat-race of corporate America, tired of being under-paid, under-appreciated, and over-worked!

Is this you? If so, I have a very good website…actually, it is a great webiste. Spend some time on my site, and if you want to talk, complete the information form on the site, and I’ll contact you. No obligation, whatsoever.

The site is right here.

There is one thing for sure, my company, Vollara, is rocketing to the moon…come fly with us!

It is a beautiful Sunday morning here in South Carolina. Unfortunately, I am tucked away inside my home recuperating from a couple of nasty falls I had this week. Yes, I did say a couple.

I don’t know what happened. I have often told funny stories of some of the falls I have taken over my forty-eight years. I have always laughed about how graceful I “went to the ground.” It seems I am not so graceful anymore. I guess age does have something to do with the matter.

I remember the Sunday in 1982 when I was a freshman at what was then called Southeastern College. I had a new pair of cowboy boots (yes, this was during the Urban Cowboy period). Back then, lots of guys were wearing their boots with their suits and such. I had gotten this new pair of burgundy wonders when I was a senior in high school back in Dillon, South Carolina.  Anyway, I had attended Lakeland, Florida‘s First Assembly of God, and I had gotten back to campus and headed over to the cafeteria. Here I am in my best suit, my burgundy cowboy boots, looking pretty good (as I remember), standing in line at the cafeteria holding a tray of food. You guessed it!  I stumbled on something….or was it a slip? Anyway, my feet went out from under me, the tray went back over my head, and I fell flat on my back! Embarrassed? Uh….yes!  What is one to do in that situation? You get up, and get back in the chow line.

I also remember the time in 1984 when I had started my professional music career. I had started playing piano for the Joe Russell Band based out of Dublin, Virginia. Yes, I still had the boots…and I had them on. We were playing gospel music in those days, and I remember very well being in a Sunday morning service at a pretty-good sized church in Dalton, Georgia. The church was packed. Everyone was in their place, and I enter the sanctuary through a small door in the front of the church just near the piano. To enter the sanctuary, you had to come through this door, and walk down a small ramp. I did not realize the ramp had a rug on it! I mean, who puts a rug on a ramp for a 300 pound guy in cowboy boots to walk down? So here I come. Several hundred people watching me come through the door, then start down the ramp, then the rug slips, and…..you guessed it…..then those darn boots get tangled-up in that rug, and here I go again. Pow! I tried to ride the wave; however, there was no doing it! I went head-first right under the pew on the front row. Embarrassed? Uh…yes! What is one to do in that situation?

Now, any sane person would have thrown those durn boots away. Remember, I did say “sane.” Later that same year, we are in Nashville, Tennessee getting ready to make our first appearance on the Grand Ole Opry show. We were doing the gospel music portion, and was I ever excited!  As were were leaving the hotel to get on the tour bus, I decided to take a short-cut down a small bank.  Did I say, small “damp” bank? And yes, I had on the boots!!  Here I go down this small bank. Clean-pressed clothes ready for the biggest engagement of my musical career and I end up sliding down that bank on my rear! Wet, muddy, and now planning to be late for the Grand Ole Opry! I get on the bus, clean-up as best as I can, and put on whatever clothes I can find. We get to the Opry, do our song, (and no I did not fall walking on stage)! Boy, wouldn’t that have been a story?

I cannot tell you how many times I have fallen since 1979 when I first bought that pair of boots. Oh, as I changed careers and got into the financial world, I traded in my cowboy boots for the leather-bottomed wing tips in the industry. I had my share of falls in those shoes as well. Never really got hurt. You know, just a slip here, a trip there, and nothing too serious.

So…here I am this past Wednesday night. It has been raining pretty much all week. My wife, Joyce, and I are on our way to prayer meeting and she needs some gas. We had a bit of extra time, so I tell her to pull into the gas station, and I will get the gas before service. I pay the attendant and head back towards the car. Maybe it was the gas prices that knocked me off my feet. Maybe it was the wet concrete mingled with some oil and gas. I don’t know….maybe it was the boots I was wearing!  Now before you say anything, it was NOT the same boots from 1979 (I still have those hidden away in my closet)! This time I had on a pair I bought in Texas a few years back. They actually aren’t boots…they’re called “Cow-Dogs.” They are boots that are made like a shoe. When you stand, it looks as if you have on boots; however, they really are shoes. Very, very comfortable, and I always wear them in bad weather and when I wear jeans.  I took a pretty nasty fall. Face first this time. The concrete was pretty tough on me. No cuts, only bruises, sprains, and a pulled leg muscle.  I have not hired a lawyer, and do not intend to. I take full responsibility for my actions. Besides, I’m sure there are video clips of that fall somewhere at the gas station. I probablyneed to try to get my hands on that tape!

Now you know why my wife is at church and I am sitting here telling you this little story of mine about how I have fallen through life.  Yes, I have literally fallen more than my share. But, I have also had some good falls as well. I fell in love with my wife. That was a great fall! I fell in love with my two precious granddaughters, that was a sweet fall. Most importantly, I fell in love with Jesus, and that was an awesome fall! I keep falling in love with Him more and more each and every day! I thank God by the Precious Blood of Jesus that I am rooted and grounded in the Mighty Love of God!

And, did I forget to tell you that I also fell in the bedroom again this past Friday night?  Oh well, that is another story for another time! I think I am beginning to fall asleep.
